Pre- and Post-Care
You must follow all pre-treatment instructions, or we will need to reschedule your visit. These instructions ensure less bleeding, less swelling, better recovery, and ultimately the best results.

_Neurotoxins (Botox, Dysport, Xeomin)_
PRE-CARE

Stop all blood thinners and alcohol at least 3 days before your appointment. This includes NSAIDs (ibuprofen, naproxen, aspirin), and over-the-counter supplements such as fish oil, turmeric, and vitamin D.

If you take a prescribed blood thinner, contact us — do not stop prescription medications without your doctor’s approval.

Avoid caffeine for at least 24 hours before your appointment.

Begin Arnica Montana and Bromelain supplements 1 week prior, per package directions. These are available on Amazon or at Whole Foods.

Do not have laser treatments, microneedling, chemical peels, or other facial procedures within 2 weeks before your neurotoxin treatment.
POST-CARE
-
Do not rub, massage, or manipulate the treated areas for 24 hours, including with facial cleansing or scrub brushes.

Avoid facials, waxing, brow treatments, chemical peels, and other facial procedures for 72 hours.
-
No laser treatments or microneedling for 2 weeks.
-
Avoid strenuous exercise, excessive heat, hot tubs, steam rooms, saunas, and prolonged sun exposure for 24 hours.

Stay upright for at least 4 hours after treatment; do not lie flat during this time.

Mild redness, swelling, tenderness, or bruising at injection sites is common and usually resolves within a few days.

Contact us immediately for severe pain, marked swelling, worsening redness, unusual bruising, skin discoloration, fever, chills, or any other concerning symptoms.

Initial results are typically noticeable within 3–7 days, with final results around 14 days.
_______Lip Filler_______
PRE-CARE​

If you have cold sores frequently, you will need to take a prophylactic dose of antiviral medicine to prevent an outbreak due to the lip filler injections. Please notify us, and we will send a prescription to your preferred pharmacy.

Avoid all blood thinners a minimum of 1 week before your appointment. This includes NSAIDs (ibuprofen, naproxen, aspirin, etc.), OTC supplements including fish oil, turmeric, vitamin D, etc. If you are on a blood thinner prescribed by your doctor, please contact us. Do not stop taking any prescribed medications.

NO dental visits 2 weeks prior to your appointment.

Avoid alcohol consumption for one week before your appointment.

Don’t drink caffeine at least 24 hours before your appointment.

Avoid working out the day of your treatment.

Per package instructions, start taking Arnica Montana, and Bromelain supplements one week before your visit. These can be purchased on Amazon or at Whole Foods.

One day before the visit, the day of the visit, and the day after the visit, take Zyrtec/Claritin/Allegra once daily and Pepcid 40mg twice per day.

POST-CARE

Do not drink directly through a straw for two weeks.

No makeup, including lipstick and foundation, near the border of lips for 48 hours after treatment.

You may gently apply ice, make sure to take breaks, and use a barrier between the lips and the ice.

Continue to avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements for one week after.

Start massaging the lips starting 3-4 days after your appointment, as instructed, for up to 2 weeks. See diagram below for further instructions.

Swelling and bruising are normal and expected. Most swelling usually subsides by day 5, while bruising may last one week or more. You are considered fully healed in 2 weeks.

Contact us IMMEDIATELY by text if you have intense pain or increasing pain (soreness is normal), abnormal bruising or discoloration in the area or anywhere on the face, redness, warmth, fever, chills, the area appears pale/blanched or appears to have decreased blood flow.
